The E317LT1‑1/T1‑4 flux-cored welding wire is crafted to meet the American Welding Society (AWS) specification A5.22, specifically for gas-shielded flux-cored arc welding (FCAW-G) of high-alloy stainless steels. It’s designed for all-position welding, providing excellent corrosion resistance, high deposition rates, and outstanding weld-metal performance. Thanks to its high molybdenum content and low carbon levels, this filler is perfect for tough environments that demand exceptional durability, minimal carbide precipitation, and strong weld integrity.

The typical weld-metal chemistry includes carbon ≤ 0.04%, chromium 18.0–21.0%, nickel 12.0–14.0%, molybdenum 3.0–4.0%, manganese 0.5–2.5%, silicon ≤ 1.0%, phosphorus ≤ 0.04%, and sulfur ≤ 0.03%. ([oxfordalloys.com][1]) In terms of mechanical properties, you can expect tensile strength around 88,600 psi (approximately 610 MPa) and elongation of 30% or more. ([washingtonalloy.com][2])
Superior corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, ideal for high-quality welds in industrial applications using external shielding gas.
Designed for outdoor welding without external shielding gas, providing excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
Exceptional weld quality, strong mechanical properties, and superior corrosion resistance for diverse industrial applications.
This flux-cored wire is perfect for welding austenitic stainless steels like Type 317/317L or similar alloys in challenging service conditions—especially where issues like chloride-induced pitting, crevice corrosion, or acid attack might arise. Common applications include petrochemical plants, pulp and paper equipment, offshore structures, tanks and pressure vessels, chemical processing equipment, and other setups that require durable, high-performance welds. It supports all-position welding and works well with CO₂ or Ar/CO₂ shielding gases, making it ideal for efficient fabrication in heavy-gauge and multi-pass welds. ([shantimetal.com][3])
AWS Class E317LT1-1/T1-4 Flux Core Wire is shipped with test certificates for AWS A5.22 and ISO 17633 compliance. It is tested for mechanical and chemical properties in each batch to provide consistent quality. Vacuum-sealed spools or moisture-proof boxes are used to package it, avoiding any contamination and ensuring welding integrity. It is available in different diameters and shipped all over the world with customized packaging to suit industrial demands.
