SMO 254 Tubing is made up of about 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6% molybdenum, and 0.2% nitrogen, which together provide outstanding corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. The low carbon content enhances weldability and helps prevent carbide precipitation. This alloy boasts a tensile strength of around 650 MPa, a yield strength of 300 MPa, and an elongation of 35–45%, ensuring excellent toughness and ductility. With a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) exceeding 42, SMO 254 offers superior resistance to aggressive environments and high chloride concentrations.
