ER630 filler wires consist of chromium (15–17%), nickel (3–5%), copper (3–5%), and 0.15–0.45% niobium/columbium with low carbon content. The weld metal develops tensile strength of around 930 MPa, yield strength of 725 MPa, and elongation of around 17% after proper heat treatment. It exhibits exceptional corrosion resistance in marine and chemical environments and good mechanical stability. ER630 resists hardness and strength through precipitation hardening and is best suited for high-stress parts and structural works.
